Third- and fourth-placed Cork City and Shamrock Rovers go head-to-head at Turner's Cross this evening as both sides look to stay in touch with St Pat's and Drogheda (kick-off 7.45pm).

Darren Murphy and Colm Carroll will be missing for City, while keeper Michael Devine and striker John O'Flynn are both carrying knocks and may miss out.

City are still without Gareth Farrelly and Colin Healy who are ruled out because of FIFA regulations.

"It’s great to have Shamrock Rovers back in the Premier Division, and on their way back to good times. I expect we’ll have a big crowd at Turner’s Cross for this game, as games against Rovers always produce a terrific atmosphere," said City boss Damien Richardson.

"Our wonderful win in Derry will be diluted if we don’t win against what is likely to be a well-organised, talented and enthusiastic Shamrock Rovers side."

He added: "This game against a young Shamrock Rovers side on good form is a tantalising prospect for all at Cork City."

Rovers are without skipper Aidan Price and Paul Shiels, while Danny O'Connor and Andy Myler may return to the squad.

"It’s a credit to everyone involved on the medical side that the players are getting back so quicky," said Hoops boss Pat Scully. "It’s absolutely fantastic that Danny and Andy could make the Cork game.

"This is a fixture that we’re really looking forward to - it’s a great game against a great club in what’s now a great stadium. There should be a big crowd and Rovers always bring a good support."
