Gerard Rowe scored a late winner to give Shamrock Rovers victory in the clash of the promoted sides at Tolka Park.

Rovers' skipper Aidan Price had come closest to breaking the deadlock when heading wide on the hour mark.

But Rowe finally earned Rovers the three points four minutes from time when shooting home following Tadgh Purcell's cross.
