Glen Crowe scored Bohemians' first goal of the season to get their campaign up and running.

Having shot against the Blues' crossbar earlier, Crowe didn't miss from just yards out when tapping in Chris Kingsberry's low cross on 43 minutes.

Crowe might have added to Bohs' winning margin in the second half but Blues' keeper Dean Delaney three times saved at his feet.

Bohs night ended on a sour note with a red card for captain Kevin Hunt on 83 minutes for a second booking and he now misses Tuesday's derby with Shamrock Rovers.
