Match-winner Stephen Ireland admitted he did not even see the ball hit the net after scoring the first goal at Croke Park.

Ireland struck the only goal as the Republic beat Wales 1-0 in the Euro 2008 qualifier in Dublin this afternoon, the first soccer match to take place at the home of the GAA.
