Tottenham meet Sevilla in UEFA quarter-finals
Tottenham have been drawn to face UEFA Cup holders Sevilla in the quarter-finals of this season’s competition.
Spurs booked their place in the last eight with a 6-4 aggregate win over Portuguese side Braga, winning both legs of the tie 3-2.
Newcastle’s conquerors AZ Alkmaar will take on German side Werder Bremen, while Osasuna, who eliminated Rangers this week, face Bayer Leverkusen. The third Spanish side in the draw, Espanyol, will take on Portuguese giants Benfica.
The ties will be played on April 5 and 12.
Sevilla are challenging for the title in La Liga, and have former Spurs striker Fredi Kanoute in their ranks.
Tottenham will travel to the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan for the first leg.
Should Spurs come through their quarter-final clash, they will take on either Bayer Leverkusen – who knocked Blackburn out of the competition – or Rangers’ conquerors Osasuna in the semis.
Those ties will be played on April 26 and May 3.
