Barca planning Scottish trip

European champions Barcelona are planning two friendlies in Scotland this summer.

They are believed to be holding talks with both Dundee United and Hibernian about the matches in July as part of their pre-season preparations.

A Barcelona spokesman told the Daily Record: “The club can confirm we are exploring the possibility of coming to Scotland this summer.

“We have a number of options and are hoping to play two games when we are there but no dates have yet been finalised.”

United director Derek Robertson added: “Discussions have taken place with Barcelona about a possible pre-season friendly at Tannadice.”
