Eircom League clubs to battle for record prize

Eircom League clubs will battle it out for record prize money during the 2007 season, with well over €1m up for grabs.

The figure represents a ten-fold increase from what was available just two years ago.

Almost half of the prize fund will be distributed through league placing, with the winner of the 2007 Premier Division set to receive €225,000.

When league prize money is added to other prize funds – including Setanta Cup, FAI Ford Cup, and European qualification monies – the total prize fund available comes to more than €1m.
