Three early goals give Reading mountain to climb at break
Reading 1 Manchester United 3
Manchester United struck three times in the opening six minutes to effectively seal a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals at Reading’s expense.
Gabriel Heinze, Louis Saha and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were all on target during a calamitous start for the Royals, with keeper Adam Federici, their hero in the first game, at fault on the first two occasions.
David Kitson pulled one back for Steve Coppell’s men midway through the half and Reading pounded the United goal without success, leaving them with a mountain to climb in the second-half.
