Boro trail after first half of FA Cup game

Darren Carter gave West Brom a deserved half-time lead after they dominated the opening 45 minutes of their FA Cup fifth-round replay with Middlesbrough at The Hawthorns.

The former Birmingham midfielder appeared to wrong-foot Boro ’keeper Brad Jones with his low drive after 25 minutes.

Tony Mowbray’s side knocked the ball around in impressive fashion and Boro were second best for the majority of the opening half.
