Warnock fears bad Lucketti
Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock fears defender Chris Lucketti could be out for a month with a foot injury.
Veteran centre-back Lucketti has been an inspiration for United since making his Barclays Premiership debut last month.
However, the 35-year-old was forced off just after the half-hour mark of Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Liverpool.
Warnock is currently awaiting results of tests on the injury, but is already planning to be without Lucketti for at least the visit of Everton to Bramall Lane on Saturday.
“We don’t know yet how long Chris will be out, but I’ve been told it could be for a few weeks, so I’m working on the assumption he won’t be available,” Warnock told The Sheffield Star.
“The physios seem to think he has hurt a ligament at the bottom of his foot, which is quite unusual, but a while ago he had a spur there and so perhaps that might have contributed.
“It might have just popped and caught something it shouldn’t, but Chris was in a fair amount of discomfort.
“He’s been for some tests and so it shouldn’t be too long before we learn exactly what the situation is and how long it will take to heal.”
