United lead at break through Ronaldo penalty

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a penalty on the stroke of half-time to give Barclays Premiership leaders Manchester United a lead against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

The Portugal winger earned the spot-kick when Steed Malbranque tripped him.

Ronaldo had missed United’s best chance before opening the scoring as they looked to extend their lead at the top of the table to six points over Chelsea.
