Nicolas Anelka’s second half strike earned Bolton a 1-0 win at bottom club Watford.

The goal – the Frenchman’s ninth of the season – was just enough to give the Trotters their first Premiership success of 2007.

Watford had been mostly toothless but were left to rue a near miss from defender Jay DeMerit when the game was still scoreless.
