Charlton go down to Lampard strike

A trademark long-range strike from Frank Lampard was enough for Chelsea to win 1-0 at relegation-threatened Charlton.

The England midfielder made it eight goals in as many matches when he fired a 20-yard effort past Scott Carson on 18 minutes.

The home side worked hard, but could only test Blues keeper Petr Cech late on when he made two good saves from Amady Faye.
