Injury rules out Leeds' Flo for eight weeks

Leeds manager Dennis Wise has revealed striker Tore Andre Flo has fractured a foot and could be out for up to eight weeks.

Leeds manager Dennis Wise has revealed striker Tore Andre Flo has fractured a foot and could be out for up to eight weeks.

The former Norway international answered Wise’s SOS in early January by signing for Leeds and agreeing to spearhead their recovery bid, but this is just the latest in a long line of injury setbacks for the Yorkshire club.

“He (Flo) has a hairline fracture and is going to be out for six to eight weeks, which is a massive blow,” Wise said after his side turned in a much-improved display to secure a crucial 2-1 win at Hull on Tuesday.

“It’s not nice, but sometimes that’s the way it goes. But if we keep performing like that we’ve got no worries,” he added.

Flo, Kevin Nicholls, Shaun Derry, Ian Westlake, Robbie Elliott and Ian Moore all missed the Hull clash.

Wise was forced to make five changes to his starting line-up and victory came at further cost as striker David Healy suffered an arm injury and Eddie Lewis limped off in the closing stages.
