Wigan move deeper into relegation trouble

Reading came back from behind to defeat Wigan 3-2 and lave the Latics still teetering on the brink of dropping into the Barclays Premiership relegation places.

Goals from Ivar Ingimarsson, Shane Long and Leroy Lita overturned Emile Heskey’s early opener, with Denny Landzaat pulling one back in stoppage-time.

It was the perfect end to the day for Long, who has just been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the first time, along with midfielder Stephen Hunt.
