Warnock set to make Rovers bow
New signing Stephen Warnock is set to make his debut in Blackburn’s FA Cup fourth round tie at Coca-Cola Championship strugglers Luton tomorrow.
Having lost midfielders Robbie Savage (broken leg), Tugay (hamstring) and defender Andre Ooijer (broken leg) in the last week and seen full-back Lucas Neill move to West Ham manager Mark Hughes will look to make changes.
And that means Neill’s replacement Warnock is in line for his debut. However, midfielder David Dunn will not be considered as he continues to build up his match fitness while international clearance has yet to be received for DR Congo centre-back Chris Samba, signed yesterday from Hertha Berlin.
Long-term injury victim Ryan Nelsen is in the squad after a midweek outing for the reserves. Francis Jeffers and Jason Roberts also made their comebacks in that match but are unlikely to feature tomorrow.
Provisional squad: Friedel, Henchoz, Khizanishvili, Emerton, Warnock, Bentley, Pedersen, Mokoena, Nelsen, Derbyshire, McCarthy, Nonda, Brown, Todd, Gallagher, McEveley, Peter.
