City terminate Reyna contract

Manchester City have agreed to terminate the contract of veteran midfielder Claudio Reyna.

Manchester City have agreed to terminate the contract of former USA captain Claudio Reyna.

The 33-year-old midfielder has not played for the club since the defeat by Tottenham in December and he is now expected to return to his homeland.

Reyna joined City for £2.5m (€3.8m) from Sunderland in 2003 and went on to make 77 league appearances, scoring four goals.

Reports have suggested Reyna was keen for a move home for family reasons and that he will sign a deal with Red Bull New York to play in Major League Soccer.
