Fans concerned by Ehiogu signing
A Rangers fans group have admitted the signing of Ugo Ehiogu causes concern because of the player’s age.
John Macmillan, secretary of the Rangers Supporters Association, is a “little concerned” about Walter Smith’s acquisition of 34-year-old defender Ehiogu.
Smith, whose first signing since returning to Ibrox last week was 36-year-old David Weir from Everton, added the former England player from Middlesbrough where he had fallen out of favour with manager Gareth Southgate.
Ehiogu, who had an unsuccessful loan spell with Leeds earlier in the season and who has suffered from injuries recently, has agreed a deal with the Govan club and passed a medical.
