Blues in talks over Bougherra
Birmingham are the latest club to make a formal inquiry about Sheffield Wednesday defender Madjid Bougherra.
Owls chairman Dave Allen revealed talks with Birmingham were on-going, but only a £3m (€4.6m) -plus offer would prise the Algeria international away from Hillsborough.
Allen, who has recently turned down a £1.3m (€1.99m) bid from Charlton for the 24-year-old, told BBC Radio Sheffield: “If Birmingham come in properly we’ll be able to do a proper deal with them because I know their directors very well and we’ll be able to deal with things sensibly.
“It depends what happens with Matthew Upson there.
“I’d like the lad (Bougherra) to stay. Everyone would like him to stay. But at the end of the day if we get £3m (€4.6m) for him it’ll be a deal well done.”
