Royals duo await verdict

Reading will give fitness tests to striker Shane Long (thigh) and defender Graeme Murty (groin) ahead of Saturday’s visit of Sheffield United.

Striker Kevin Doyle (hamstring) is out for at least four weeks, while a similar problem has kept utility man Brynjar Gunnarsson on the sidelines.

Striker Dave Kitson and winger Bobby Convey, who have both recovered from knee injuries, rejoin the squad.
