Earnshaw may sit out rest of season
Norwich manager Peter Grant has confirmed that striker Robert Earnshaw could be out for the rest of the season following the groin injury he suffered in training last week.
The 25-year-old Wales international has scored 18 goals this season and his long-term absence is a major blow to Grant, whose side have picked up just nine points from their last 10 Championship games.
Grant said: “Unfortunately this is going to be a case of months rather than weeks for ‘Earnie’.
“He had an operation on Tuesday and the injury is similar to that suffered by Robert Green before the World Cup, where the ligament has come away from the bone. I would be delighted if I got him back by the end of April but that depends on how his recovery goes.
“However it could be next season, we’ll just have to wait and see. Obviously Earnie is absolutely gutted, as am I.”
