Dickov out for two months

Manchester City striker Paul Dickov has been ruled out for up to eight weeks because of a broken toe.

The 34-year-old has suffered discomfort since before Christmas and underwent an x-ray about 10 days ago.

Dickov is to have surgery this evening to try to solve the problem.

It means the Scot is sidelined for the FA Cup replay against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.

Stephen Jordan is expected to return to the squad following a virus while Hatem Trabelsi remains doubtful because of a hamstring strain.

Provisional squad: Weaver, Onuoha, Jihai, Distin, Dunne, Jordan, Miller, Richards, Sinclair, Dabo, Barton, Ireland, Trabelsi, Beasley, Vassell, Corradi, Samaras, Isaksson.
