Celtic have been told to increase their bid if they want to sign Swiss youngster Zdravko Kuzmanovic.

Celtic have been told to increase their bid if they want to sign Swiss youngster Zdravko Kuzmanovic.

The Bank of Scotland Premier League champions are vying with Serie A side Palermo for the FC Basle midfielder.

The 19-year-old has established himself in Christian Gross’s side this season and Hoops boss Gordon Strachan has made one unsuccessful attempt to bring him to Glasgow.

It has been reported that the Italian club have had a bid of around £1million rejected for the Swiss Under-21 international.

Basle owner Gigi Oeri told the Daily Record: “We refused offers from Palermo and Celtic so it’s up to them to increase their bids. It’s possible a decision will be taken on Zdravko by Monday.

“We don’t want to let him go but there comes a point when we must sell.”
