PSV sign Chelsea defender on loan

PSV Eindhoven have completed an 18-month loan deal for Chelsea’s Brazilian defender Alcides.

The 21-year-old had been on loan with Benfica, but personal problems and limited first-team opportunities at the Estadio da Luz brought a premature end to his time in Portugal.

“I am glad to be here,” Alcides told www.psv.nl. “This is a big club and a good step for me.”
