Reading hold nerve to advance past Burnley

Goals from Leroy Lita, Shane Long and Sam Sodje enabled Reading to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-2 home victory over Burnley tonight.

The Clarets’ fought back from 3-0 down with goals from Ade Akinbiyi and substitute Garreth O’Connor but the home side held on.

Reading will now travel to the winners of the replay between Birmingham and Newcastle.
