Ashikodi in line for bow
Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd could give a debut to Moses Ashikodi in tomorrow’s FA Cup third round tie at home to Stockport.
Forward Ashikodi, 19, joined the club from Rangers this week and, with Tamas Priskin serving a one-match ban following his sending-off at Fulham on New Year’s Day, he has a good chance of starting the game.
Boothroyd has injury doubts over captain Gavin Mahon and midfielder Dan Shittu, but has been allowed to play on-loan goalkeeper Ben Foster by the player’s parent club Manchester United.
Defenders James Chambers (gashed leg) and Clarke Carlisle (thigh) are sidelined, along with forwards Hameur Bouazza (shoulder) and forward Marlon King (knee).
Provisional squad: Foster, Lee, Mariappa, DeMerit, Shittu, Stewart, Mackay, Powell, Doyley, Smith, Mahon, Bangura, McNamee, Spring, Francis, Jarrett, Young, Henderson, Ashikodi.
