Charlton’s Osei Sankofa has had a claim for wrongful dismissal rejected by the Football Association's disciplinary commission.

Charlton’s Osei Sankofa has had a claim for wrongful dismissal rejected by the Football Association's disciplinary commission.

The Charlton defender was sent off for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity during Tuesday's Barclays Premiership match against Arsenal.

The commission also decided that the claim was ‘frivolous’ and have given Sankofa an additional one-match suspension, meaning he will therefore miss the club’s next two matches – Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie at Nottingham Forest and the Barclays Premiership home match against Middlesbrough on January 13.
