Rangers drop skipper Ferguson
Barry Ferguson will not captain Rangers in tomorrow’s Bank of Scotland Premier League game at Motherwell, amid reports he has been stripped of the captaincy.
The move follows reports of a clash between the 28-year-old midfielder and manager Paul Le Guen.
Gavin Rae will assume the role of captain at Fir Park despite limited appearances this season.
A statement from Rangers confirmed: “Paul Le Guen has confirmed he has chosen on this occasion to drop Barry Ferguson for tomorrow’s game and the captaincy will be given to Gavin Rae.”
