Benitez: Bolton taking advantage of lenient referees

Rafael Benitez believes Premiership high-fliers Bolton are taking advantage of lenient English referees.

Liverpool's Spanish manager is in no doubt that Bolton - third and one place above the Reds in the table - would not get away with the same tactics if they were to try them in his native country.

"Bolton could not play this way in Spain," said Benitez as he prepares to face Sam Allardyce's team at Anfield today.

"Every free-kick, every corner, ever throw-in would be a foul. But in England referees all it."

Liverpool play Bolton at home in the Premiership at 12.45pm today.
