Dundalk have backed down in their dispute with the FAI following their failure to gain a place in the new Eircom League of Ireland Premier Division.

Dundalk have backed down in their dispute with the FAI following their failure to gain a place in the new Eircom League of Ireland Premier Division.

The club's chairman, Gerry Matthews, said yesterday after a meeting with FAI officials that he was satisfied that the selection process, which promoted Galway at the expense of Dundalk, was fair.
