Cork City chairman agrees investment deal
Cork City owner Brian Lennox today agreed terms with an investment group to acquire a stake in the club.
Neither the details of the agreement nor the identity of the investors have not been disclosed.
“This is a major step forward towards securing the long-term future of the club,” said Lennox. “This investment will strengthen our current financial position and give us access to the resources we’ve long sought to take Cork City to the next level.”
As part of the deal, manager Damien Richardson will remain in control of team affairs for the next two years.
Lennox will stay on as chairman for at least three years, saying that he would continue to take an “active role” in the club.
