Fellow midfielder Papa Bouba Diop, who has been struggling with a thigh complaint, dropped to the bench at Craven Cottage as boss Chris Coleman made three changes to the side which lost at Manchester City last week.

Carlos Bocanegra was on the bench, and Moritz Volz was not in the squad - while Collins John and Tomasz Radzinski were brought into the starting line-up.

Royals winger Glen Little has been struggling with a foot injury but was able to take his place in the starting XI.
