Sammon double seals win for students

Connor Sammon hit a brace as UCD finished their season with a flourish tonight.

Longford got the ideal start with the lead after just one minute.

Alan Murphy got away down the right to cross and Dessie Baker, who scored twice in last week’s win over Bohemians, tapped home.

UCD hit back on 15 minutes when Patrick Kavanagh’s shot was deflected into his own net by Danny O’Connor.

Sammon put College in front on 55 minutes when converting Conor Kenna’s cross before adding the third five minutes from time.
