Campbell, Primus back for Pompey

Sol Campbell and Linvoy Primus return to the centre of Portsmouth’s defence for the visit of Fulham.

The pair missed the defeat by Manchester United through a stomach bug and a hamstring injury respectively.

But on-loan right back Glen Johnson is still out for “several weeks” with a torn thigh muscle and Pompey also have to run late fitness checks on the hamstring injuries of midfielder Gary O’Neil and defender Noe Pamarot. Andy Griffin will be recalled from a loan at Stoke if necessary.

Andy Cole has damaged a groin muscle in training and top scorer Kanu is set to return to the attack after being relegated to the subs’ bench last week.

Benjani Mwaruwari will be his strike partner if his knee injury responds to a pain-killing injection.

Team: James; Pamarot, Primus, Campbell, Stefanovic; O’Neil, Pedro Mendes, Davis, Taylor, Benjani, Kanu, LuaLua, Fernandes, Kranjcar, Koroman, Hughes, Thompson, O’Brien, Griffin, Kiely (gk).
