Emerton out of UEFA tie

Blackburn’s Australian international Brett Emerton has been ruled out of the UEFA Cup match against Basle tomorrow because of a hamstring strain.

Morten Gamst Pedersen (ankle) and Shabani Nondo (shin) are both doubtful through injury for this group game.

Robbie Savage, who missed the defeat by West Ham through suspension, could return after suffering fluid on the knee.
