Shevchenko out
Andriy Shevchenko lost his fight to overcome a thigh problem in time to join Chelsea’s attack in Barcelona.
Shevchenko travelled to Spain and trained with the squad yesterday for the first time since suffering the injury.
He looked in some discomfort despite completing the session and boss Jose Mourinho decided to pair Arjen Robben with Didier Drogba in the Nou Camp. Shevchenko was not even on the bench.
Robben’s inclusion was the only change to the Chelsea team which beat Barcelona 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, two weeks ago.
Barca boss Frank Rijkaard recalled Lionel Messi to the starting line-up after injury, while midfield anchorman Edmilson was replaced with Thiago Motta.
