Wigan midfielder Denny Landzaat could be given a chance in the clash at Fulham following the injury to Josip Skoko.

Holland international Landzaat, a £2.3m (€3.4m) summer signing from AZ Alkmaar, has so far failed to settle at the JJB and was dropped to the bench for last weekend’s victory over Manchester City.

However, Landzaat was back on the pitch after just half an hour when Australian Skoko tore his hamstring, and he is set to retain the central role at Craven Cottage.

Also out is centre-half Fitz Hall, who suffered ankle ligament damage against City, meaning a likely starting place for either Andy Webster or Matt Jackson.

Team (from): Kirkland, Boyce, Webster, De Zeeuw, Baines, Teale, Valencia, Landzaat, Scharner, Kilbane, Todorov, Camara, McCulloch, Heskey, Pollitt, Jackson.
