Ince announcement expected

Macclesfield have called a press conference for 3pm this afternoon where they are expected to unveil former England captain Paul Ince as their new manager.

The former Manchester United, Inter Milan and Liverpool midfielder was in the crowd for the Silkmen's Coca-Cola League Two clash away to Bristol Rovers.

Ince’s last involvement with the game came at Swindon, where he was released from his playing contract by mutual consent earlier this month due to “personal reasons”, primarily the journey time to Wiltshire from his home in Chester.

Former Manchester City midfielder Ian Brightwell has been in temporary control of first-team affairs at Moss Rose.
