Arsenal’s bid for a third straight Champions League Group G victory looked to be going cold in Moscow as CSKA lead 1-0 at half-time.

Brazilian Daniel Carvalho smashed in a fine effort from a well-worked free-kick to give the Russians a deserved lead.

Arsenal were not helped by the state of the pitch, with recalled Robin van Persie twice failing to make the most of his chances.
