Wenger packs midfield in Moscow clash
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has opted for a five-man midfield in tonight’s Champions League Group G clash at CSKA Moscow.
Attack-minded Robin van Persie lined up just behind frontman Thierry Henry, with Theo Walcott dropping to the bench, and Alexander Hleb returned to the starting XI following Saturday’s 3-0 Barclays Premiership win over Watford.
Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor was among the substitutes, along with Brazilian youngster Denilson who featured in the squad for the first time.
Moscow knew they could go above the Gunners with victory in the chilly Lokomotiv Stadium, and Brazilians Wagner Love and Dudu were their main danger players. Croatian Ivica Olic, who played against England in Zagreb last week, was on the bench.
