Bray sink Cork's title hopes
Bray Wanderers 2 Cork City 1
Damien Richardson conceded champions Cork City won’t now retain their title as Andrei Georgescu scored twice inside three second half minute to lift Bray off the foot of the table with a first win in 15 games.
The little Romanian struck for the opener on 52 minutes when he collected Stephen Fox’s ball, cut past Dan Murray to score with a deflected shot.
His second was a nightmare for Cork keeper Michael Devine who spilled David Tyrrell’s low cross and Georgescu had a simple tap in.
Cork rallied late on and Murray blasted home Billy Woods’ cross on 81 minute.
But it proved a mere consolation on the night and Cork are now in a battle to qualify for Europe.
