St. Pat’s secured a second big win on the spin as Drogheda’s lingering title ambitions all but ended at Richmond Park tonight.

Fresh from their fine FAI Cup quarter-final win over Longford last week, Saints were positive from the start and took the lead on nine minutes.

Graham Gartland fouled Paul Keegan some 25 yards out and midfielder Keith Fahey punished the club that sacked him a couple of months back with a stunning free kick to the back of the net.

Drogheda had skipper Jason Gavin sent off for a foul on Trevor Molloy on 69 minutes - his second booking - as their hopes of getting back into the match faded.

Paul Keegan killed off the game with Saints’ second goal on 80 minutes with Mark Rooney adding the third with just a minute remaining.
