Staunton facing goalkeeping crisis for upcoming ties

Ireland manager Steve Staunton is facing a goalkeeping crisis as he prepares to name his squad for the upcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers against Cyprus and the Czech Republic.

Shay Given is out of action for several weeks as a result of his recent stomach tear, while Paddy Kenny is also nursing an injury.

Their absence means Wayne Henderson is on standby to deputise alongside Nicky Colgan.

Staunton is due to name his squad for the two upcoming games this lunchtime.
