David Beckham was booked for diving after coming off the bench in Real Madrid’s 1-0 Primera Liga win over Sevilla.

The former England captain was a substitute for the second successive game - the first time that has happened since moving to Madrid in 2003 – and replaced Jose Antonio Reyes in the 67th minute.

His first contribution was to receive a yellow card for simulation after going to go ground too easily on the edge of the Betis penalty area.

In a game of few decent goalscoring opportunities, Mahamadou Diarra’s header after seven minutes settled the contest in favour of Fabio Capello’s men, who went top ahead of tomorrow’s matches.

Cicinho was stretchered off in tears in the 30th minute after suffering what looked to be a serious knee injury while turning to chase the ball.
