Keane suffers first defeat as Sunderland boss
Roy Keane has suffered his first loss as Sunderland manager this afternoon, as fell from one goal ahead to an eventual 3-1 defeat by Ipswich.
Irish international striker Alan Lee was the home side’s hero nabbing two goals in the space of four second half minutes.
Keane had already recorded two wins and a draw from his first three games, but a trip to Ipswich, who had won three of their past four games was always going to be difficult.
Sunderland went ahead with a Jason De Vos own goal after half an hour, but the home side were level through Darren Currie three minutes later.
Former Cardiff City man Lee netted twice midway through the second half to leave Jim Magilton’s men in command.
