Kevin Deery named Soccer Writers’ Player of Month

Derry City's Kevin Deery has been named as the Eircom League Soccer Writers' Player of the Month for August.

The midfielder has picked up the honour for his role in maintaining the Northerners' unbeaten run during the month in the league, the FAI Cup and the UEFA Cup.

Deery scored twice in the Candystripes' 5-1 win over Gretna in the UEFA Cup qualifiers on August 10th.
