Manchester City are understood to be close to completing a loan deal for United States winger DaMarcus Beasley.

The Blues are hoping to sign the player from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven on a season-long deal before the transfer window closes at midnight.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf have reported that the 24-year-old has travelled to England for a medical.

The 24-year-old Beasley, who can play up front or on either flank, has 55 caps for his country.
