Honours even in Dublin derby
Shamrock Rovers 1 Bohemians 1
The sides must meet again at Dalymount Park on Tuesday night as Rovers stormed back to earn a deserved FAI Cup replay.
Indeed, Rovers should have got their reward for a dominant second half display right at the death, but David Cassidy blazed over the bar when he should have won it.
Bohs had the perfect start with the lead goal after just six minutes.
Stephen Ward, being watched by Ipswich, sent over a terrific cross and Mark Leech, whose father famously scored twice in the 1968 final, headed home.
They might have made it 2-0 on the half hour mark but for a good stop by Barry Murphy from Paul Devlin.
But Rovers were level within six minutes of the second half when Tadhg Purcell blasted home a penalty after Fergal Harkin handled a header from Ray Kenny.
