Dutch striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is set hold talks with Celtic after PSV Eindhoven agreed a fee with the Scottish champions.

Dutch striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is set hold talks with Celtic after PSV Eindhoven agreed a fee with the Scottish champions.

Reports suggest the 27-year-old forward will fly into Glasgow within the next 48 hours to thrash out personal terms.

While Celtic were being held to a 1-1 draw by Inverness Caledonian Thistle yesterday, Vennegoor was on the scoresheet as PSV began the defence of their Eredivisie title with a 3-1 victory over NEC Nijmegen.

“Celtic are a great club and they will be playing in the Champions League this year,” he said.

“But it is too difficult for me to say anything more until this is fully resolved.”

PSV general manager Stan Valckx added: “We have agreed a fee with Celtic and it is now up to the player.”
