Honours even in four-goal thriller

Shelbourne 2 Cork City 2

Shelbourne twice came from behind as champions Cork finished with ten men in this Tolka Park thriller.

Denis Behan fired Cork in font on 19 minutes with Jason Byrne hitting his 14th league goal of the season to level just two minutes before the break.

Shels' skipper Owen Heary gave away a penalty on 61 minutes when handling the ball inside the area and Roy O’Donovan duly put Cork back in front.

But Shels rallied again and former Cork star Ollie Cahill crossed for Glen Crowe to equalise on 78 minutes.

Cork had midfielder Joe Gamble sent off three minutes from time for a second booking.
